NDIS Travel and Transport Assistance in Adelaide

Assist Travel/Transport covers support getting to and from the places that matter, medical appointments, therapy sessions, social events, or just the shops. For a lot of participants, this is the difference between a plan that works on paper and a week that actually happens.

Like every service we deliver, transport assistance comes with a support worker you've chosen, not whoever's available that day. Consistency matters here too, the same person driving you to a regular appointment means less explaining, less awkwardness, more of your day going the way you planned it.

What's Included

  • Transport to medical and allied health appointments
  • Transport to therapy and support sessions
  • Transport to social, recreational, and community events
  • Support getting to and from work or study, where funded
  • Assistance building confidence with public transport, not just being driven everywhere
  • We consider your preferences when matching a support worker, where possible
  • Scheduling that works around your regular commitments
  • Direct contact with the people running your support

How Transport Bookings Typically Work

1

Recurring appointments, therapy, work, regular social commitments, are set up as a standing arrangement with your support worker.

2

One-off trips are booked ahead where possible, so scheduling doesn't come down to who's available that day.

3

Changes or cancellations go through your support worker or our office directly, not a call centre.

Why Reliable Transport Support Matters

A cancelled ride is more than an inconvenience, it's a missed therapy session, a missed appointment that takes weeks to rebook, or a missed catch-up with friends that quietly stops happening altogether. Transport support only works if it's actually reliable, which is part of why we treat it the same way we treat every other service: matched to a support worker you know, not whoever's rostered on and running late.

How Transport Assistance Is Funded

Assist Travel/Transport is generally funded through Core Supports in your NDIS plan.

Who This Service Is For

Assist Travel/Transport suits NDIS participants who need support getting to appointments, therapy, work, study, or community activities, whether that's due to mobility, confidence, or not having accessible transport otherwise available. This includes participants transitioning from the justice system or a rehabilitation program, alongside general NDIS participants.
